Overview

Trade remedies are tools the Australian Government can use to prevent harm to domestic industries from unfair imports. The government has announced its intention to modernise Australia’s trade remedies system and is exploring reforms to make it more effective, timely and accessible.

This consultation paper builds on engagement with businesses, industry organisations and unions on options to strengthen Australia’s trade remedies system.

We are seeking insights from those who have, or intend to use trade remedies, or have been affected by trade remedies.  Proposed reforms will make sure the system remains fit for purpose. They will help to streamline processes, reduce administrative burden and strengthen the system to support Australian manufacturers and consumers.
