We have extended the closing date for this consultation to 29 September 2023. The original closing date was 22 September 2023.
Overview
The National Measurement Institute (NMI) is working with the International Organisation of Legal Metrology (OIML) to review the international standard for non-automatic weighing instruments.
The OIML R 76 standard is the international recommendation for the requirements and testing procedures used to evaluate these instruments.
As part of this process, we are seeking feedback on the First Committee Draft (1 CD) of the review of OIML R 76 non-automatic weighing instruments.
The comments you provide will form part of a consolidated Australian submission on the 1 CD of the review of OIML R 76. Your insights will allow NMI to better represent Australian industry and facilitate international trade through this international recommendation.
Once the revision of OIML R 76 has been completed and a new edition published by OIML, NMI will consider adopting the new edition of OIML R 76 as Australia’s pattern approval requirements for non-automatic weighing instruments.
