Overview
The Montara Commission of Inquiry was established to report on an oil and gas leak in the Montara oil field in the Timor Sea. The Inquiry was undertaken in accordance with Part 9.10A of the Offshore Petroleum and Greenhouse Gas Storage Act 2006.
As part of this inquiry, the Commissioner called for submissions from companies involved in the Montara Field Development, those who responded to the leak, the petroleum industry, government agencies, environmental experts and other interested parties.
