Australia’s AI Month is an exciting showcase of events that build skills and spotlight Australia’s AI capabilities.

If your organisation is running an event this year between 14 October and 15 November 2024, we’d love to hear about it. This could include events (in person and virtual) and anything from workshops to fireside chats, from hackathons to panel discussions.

Types of organisations we’re keen to hear from include, but are not limited to:

  • small and medium enterprises

  • large enterprises

  • AI industry

  • software and services

  • academia

  • start-ups

  • innovation hubs and precincts

  • industry associations

  • business councils

  • community groups.

AI Month guidelines

Guidelines for determining an AI Month 2024 event in Australia:

  • Timing: The event must occur between 14 October and 15 November 2024. This period is designated as AI Month, during which a series of events related to artificial intelligence will take place across the country.

  • Location: The event must be held within Australia either in person or online. It can be in any state or territory, provided it is accessible to the target audience and relevant to the AI Month themes.

  • Content: The event should focus on artificial intelligence and its various aspects, including but not limited to workshops, fireside chats, hackathons, panel discussions, and showcases of AI capabilities.

  • Inclusivity: The event should aim to be inclusive, catering to one or more of the ranges of expertise levels from beginners to advanced practitioners, and should encourage participation from diverse groups.

  • Safety and responsibility: The event should promote safe and responsible AI practices, aligning with national and international standards and regulations.

  • Engagement: The event should aim to engage one or more of the following audiences: small businesses (1-19 employees), medium businesses (20-200 employees), enterprises (over 200 employees), startups and entrepreneurs, industry professionals, policymakers, academics, students, and the general public.

  • Collaboration: The event should foster collaboration within the AI community, encouraging networking, knowledge sharing, and partnership formation.

  • Promotion: The event should contribute to raising awareness about Australia's AI Month and the National AI Centre's initiatives.
