Proposed APEC Women in STEM principles

Closed 9 Aug 2019

Opened 31 Jul 2019

We are seeking views of stakeholders on a draft set of principles and actions proposed by APEC’s Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation (PPSTI) to improve the outcomes for women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in the Asia-Pacific region.

This project is being led by the United States Government, with the support of the Australian and other governments. APEC PPSTI intends that organisations across the APEC region voluntarily adopt the finalised set of principles. It also intends that member economies use the principles and their associated actions to help guide policies and activities to support and advance women in STEM.

Your feedback will help ensure the principles deliver positive outcomes for women and organisations.

What Happens Next

We will take consolidated feedback to the APEC Policy Partnership on Science, Technology and Innovation meeting in August 2019. The principles should be launched at the WEF in 2019.
