Privacy Collection Statement

The Australian Space Agency is seeking comments on a draft cost recovery implementation statement (CRIS).The Australian Space Agency is a non-statutory, whole-of-government entity located within the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science.

The Department is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles outlined in Schedule 1 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), which regulates how we may collect, use, disclose and store personal information.

Personal information
Personal information that is included in submissions may be published on the Department’s website, including your name, and where relevant, the name and type of organisation you represent and your position in the organisation. However, any contact details that you provide within your submission will be redacted prior to the submission being published. This information will support the Government’s consideration on an appropriate charging model and subsequent development of subordinate legislation (rules). Personal information collected as part of the submission process may be accessed by Department staff who are developing the rules containing the charging model or disclosed to Ministers and their officers.

Your personal information will not be used or disclosed without your consent, except as set out above or where authorised or required by law.

Personal information will be stored and held in accordance with the Departments obligations under the Archives Act 1983 (Cth). For further information, please refer to the Department’s Privacy Policy.

 
Confidential information
All submissions will be published on the Department’s website as provided to the Department unless the submission or part of the submission is marked as confidential. If only part of the submission is confidential, you must clearly identify the confidential text. If only part of your submission is confidential, you may also provide the Department with a non-confidential version of the submission which can be published on the Department’s website. Any information provided by you as part of the submission process which is both confidential and marked as confidential by you will not be disclosed beyond the Department, Ministers and their officers.

Defamatory or offensive comments
Submissions, comments, opinions and responses will not be published if the Department considers that the submissions may contain potentially defamatory statements or other offensive comments.
