Could the exemptions to the regulations be expanded (or reduced)? - Please specify:

The random instances where overseas provided goods are proven to be a repeated concern to the health and safety of the Australian public, is a clear confirmation that our current regulations are not being effectively/ or uniformly enforced/ ensured by our Australian Authorities. I believe that the current packaging regulations should stand as a 'bare minimum' requirement that ALL local AND overseas manufacturers/ providers should comply with, so as to encourage public confidence. In fact, further improvements should be pursued to ensuring a detailed description of the actual product, the actual supply source/ country of origin and its inherent component contents within said packaging be displayed. All too often the Government/ Regulatory Departments choose to 'water-down' Australian protection requirements under the guise of 'improvements' that are ultimately proven to be detrimental to the Australian Public's health and safety expectations.

Should a principles based approach be adopted for the regulations overseeing the measurement mark? - Please enter your response

A plain Principal: If an overseas manufacturer/ producer/ on-seller chooses to market/ sell a product within Australia, they shall comply with the same requirements as our local company - no exception.
