Maximising SME use of Australia’s Innovation Lab infrastructure

Closed 19 Mar 2018

Opened 19 Feb 2018

On 8 May 2017, the Government announced the $100 million Advanced Manufacturing Fund. The Fund aims to boost innovation, skills and employment in advanced manufacturing. It will support the transition of Australia’s manufacturing sector from traditional processes to high value products in areas of emerging strength.

As an important element of the Fund, the Department of Industry, Innovation and Science would like your ideas to help shape the Innovation Labs initiative to meet the needs of industry.

The Innovation Labs will help manufacturing Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in South Australia and Victoria build their capabilities, through access to a range of high quality advanced manufacturing services. These services aim to help manufacturing SMEs create new products and adopt new business processes that assist in the transition from traditional to emerging forms of manufacturing.

Innovation Labs will focus on building manufacturing business capability in the digital age – but will not fund physical infrastructure.
