To the Future Gas Strategy Taskforce,
I agree to the privacy collection statement.
I am deeply concerned by the government’s continued approvals for new gas, including fracking operations,.
The best science in the world unequivocally says we are facing an existential crisis due to the continued burning of fossil fuels. Time to act is already slipping past.
Therefore it is irresponsible, negligent and unconscionable to continue to approve new gas expansions.
We must focus all our most urgent and powerful efforts to ending the worldwide dependence on coal and gas and leverage renewables in Australia.
Our reserves of minerals and elements used for renewables and batteries must replace fossil fuel exports to help our economy.
All subsidies and tax benefits for fossil fuel companies must also be urgently redirected to renewable transition expenditure.
The fossil fuel industry is responsible for death and injury on a globally unprecedented scale and must be held to account, not supported by successive governments.
Make this a priority!
Yours sincerely,
Adrienne Riddell
