Our department is bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in Schedule 1 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The Privacy Act regulates how we may collect, use, disclose and store personal information. We also hold personal information in accordance with the Archives Act 1983 (Cth).
We use technology by Converlens Pty Ltd to provide this consultation service and website. Converlens complies with the Privacy Act and stores data securely in Australia.
In this consultation we will collect personal information, including your name, organisation, email, phone, location, comments and opinions.
Personal information will be disclosed to departmental staff for the purpose of informing views on the proposed changes to existing offshore policies and guidance material. Personal information may also be provided to the minister and/or the minister’s office, and employees of the National Offshore Petroleum Safety, Environmental and Management Authority (NOPSEMA). Personal information may also be used to contact you if we need further feedback on the consultation. We will not use or disclose personal information without your consent, except where authorised or required by law.
We may publish responses to this consultation. Your response will be confidential unless you advise otherwise.
We may use your contact details to contact you, if needed, to clarify any feedback and comments you provide.
If you need to include personal information about another individual in your submission, you will need to inform that individual of the contents of this statement, and obtain their consent to us collecting their personal information.
