Privacy Collection Statement

The Emissions Reduction Assurance Committee (ERAC) is conducting consultation as part of the development of the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative—Carbon Capture and Storage) method, as required under section 123D of the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Act 2011.

Our department publishes the consultations on behalf of the ERAC and the Clean Energy Regulator.

Our department is also seeking feedback on the amendments to the Carbon Credits (Carbon Farming Initiative) Rule 2015 to support the method.

Our department and the Clean Energy Regulator are bound by the Australian Privacy Principles in Schedule 1 of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). The Privacy Act regulates how we may collect, use, disclose and store personal information.

Our department will collect from this consultation your personal information (including your name, organisation, email and phone number) so that the Clean Energy Regulator are able to contact you, if needed to seek clarification regarding any comments you provide on the proposed method.

Your personal information will be accessed by staff from our department, the ERAC and the Clean Energy Regulator who are involved with drafting or reviewing the method. Your personal information will not be used or disclosed without your consent, except as set out above or where authorised or required by law.

Our department and the Clean Energy Regulator intend to publicly release the contents of submissions. The contents of submissions will be published on our department’s Consultation Hub webpage. Contents of submissions will be de-identified where possible. However, if you would like your submission to be treated as confidential please indicate this in the ‘confidential submission’ section of the stakeholder consultation form.

We will store and hold your personal information in accordance with our department’s obligations under the Archives Act 1983 (Cth).
